Happy New Year! We hope you had a good Christmas break and are all well!
We were hoping to see all our Fledgling friends and welcoming some new friends too! Due to current circumstances, we have had to move to online learning, it is a different way of learning and keeping in touch, but we will always try our best to support our Fledgling families and continue to have lots of fun!
Our children have made a fantastic start on their learning journey and quickly adapted to the new school life and we are excited to continue our learning over the next half term.
On return we will settle our children with a warm and calming environment, this will help them to continue to build positive relationships with both peers and adults alike. As their confidence grows so will their curiosity to explore our rich environment. We will continue with some routine and rules and use visual aids to support the children’s understanding. We have already introduced our rainbow song and stations which support the children and help them to keep their hands clean, this can be used to encourage the children at home too! We enjoy lots of messy play both inside and out, so named spare clothes are a must. Please provide nappies (no pull ups unless training to use the toilet) wipes and spare underwear too. We also advise wellies during wet weather as we love to jump in puddles!
Our main learning areas are:
Personal, Social, Emotional Development (PSED)
Communication and Language (CAL)
Physical Development (PD)
Understanding the World (UW)
Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)
Most of our learning will be through play and our environment throughout the year will be led by the children’s interests and favourite stories. So we will not be planning specific topics, but we will look at different festivals that link with our celebration’s week, so if you do have any important festivals please do let us know. We look forward to a fun, filled term in Fledglings!

Rainbow Station Song
Rainbow station, rainbow station, clean your hands, clean your hands.
Find a rainbow station, find a rainbow station, clean your hands, clean your hands!
